After installation of the latest Windows 10 or upgrade to Windows 11 you might be having problems with Camera working. The error message is: To use the camera you need the Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 10 (or Windows 11). The Media Feature Pack for Windows 10/11 N is available for download as an Optional Feature.
Now, you might be asking yourself, why can’t I just download it? Yes, you can, but only for Windows 10 1903 version, or prior, but not for later. Later versions can only add Media Feature Pack as an Optional Feature.
But, I don’t have an Optional Features in my settings. What now?
In that case, you can install Media Feature Pack via Powershell, like this:
1. Open Powershell as administrator
2. Run this command: dism /online /add-capability /capabilityname:Media.MediaFeaturePack~~~~0.0.1.0
3. Done!
If, by any chance that didn’t work: try first running this command to see the feature full name, and then run command from step no.2:
Dism /online /Get-Features
